Katy Roof Replacement: Before & After With Owens Corning Duration in Onyx Black
Owens Corning Duration • Onyx Black | Apex Roofing Solutions
We completed this roof replacement on a home in the Katy area after it sustained hail damage from the May 9, 2026 hailstorm. For this project, we installed Owens Corning Duration shingles in Onyx Black, and our crew completed the entire roof replacement in just one day.
Take a look at the before-and-after pictures. The Onyx Black shingles gave this home a clean, updated look, and the finished roof turned out great.
What we installed
We used Owens Corning components throughout this roof replacement, including:
Owens Corning Duration shingles in Onyx Black
Owens Corning Rizer Ridge hip and ridge shingles
Owens Corning underlayment
Owens Corning ridge vent
There’s more to a roof replacement than the shingles you see from the street. The underlayment, ridge shingles and ventilation are all part of the roofing system. We want our homeowners to understand what we’re installing and what they’re getting when they choose Apex.
A new roof in just one day
Our crew completed this project in one day, giving the homeowner a new roof without dragging the installation out over several days. Every roof is different, and weather and the scope of work can affect the schedule, but this project is a good example of what our team can accomplish.
Warranty coverage for peace of mind
This homeowner received a 40-year manufacturer warranty along with our lifetime labor warranty from Apex Roofing Solutions. The coverage details are outlined in the written warranties, but the goal is simple: we want our homeowners to feel confident in their new roof and know we stand behind our work.
As the owner of Apex, that matters to me. I want people to feel good about who they hired and know they have someone to call if they need help down the road.
